Furthermore, every institute focal person will verify the student’s eligibility for the scheme, so students shall be updated by their advisors and the admin department of the universities for the laptop scheme. Once announced, they can register themselves on the portal, giving complete profile information there for successful registration. It shall be noted that the official portal has not been launched as yet, so students are strictly advised not to register on fake portals that could result in information theft.

It is customized with branding of CM’s initiative on the top. The machine is fast and reliable, with much demand in the corporate sector that can serve for a long-term purpose to students.
Distribution of Laptops
The first consignment of laptops has also arrived and was displayed during an event. The laptops will start getting distributed in February, according to the CM. The number of laptops has been instructed to be increased from 40,000 because the number of students coming on merit is very high. The minister had initially kept it at 40,000. But she has ordered to increase it. Approximately 1 lakh candidates will be given laptops. The registration is expected to be started by March and would be distributed by June in the first stage, as CM has ordered the scale of the initiative to be increased.
Eligibility
The scheme is focused on the students studying in HEC-recognized universities, although there has been speculation about including the college students, but it is not practically possible with such a limited number of machines. The toppers of colleges are expected to receive laptops; other than that, students in universities with more than 65% or with CGPA higher than 3.00 will be mainly accommodated in this scheme.
