Revolution Backlashed: 9 May Protestors Punished:- A total of 85 protestors are being punished in the aftermath of the 9th May events, and that too legally and according to the constitution.
According to every media outlet, these sentences have been given according to the Constitution of Pakistan. They have been given according to the directions of the Supreme Court of Pakistan. Every anchor has stressed these phrases reporting the news of these sentences that are so constitutional, like every other move of this law-loving nation. Everyone emphasized the supremacy of law and praised this justice served by army courts and some general who passed the orders as per law and constitution. Analysts are praising these decisions and blaming the leadership of PTI for using youth for their ill motives. Many have realized their mistakes, and many prisoners are still awaiting decisions. In this year, many constitutional disappearances were carried out in connection with 9 May events. They had to be punished, and the state had to show its power, which it always does. Any group of protestors threatening state property and lives of the people must be punished, but the procedure of military courts and praising generals for delivery of justice is a strange motive. The supreme law of uniform seems to be in control of every aspect of government. The rented anchors and analysts make huge statements for these saviors of justice. The only mistake these protestors made was miscalculating revolution. The scenario of current Pakistan will force anyone to burn down all state property, whether it is civil or army-related. The problem of punishing these protestors or their leadership is secondary; they have had their lessons and will motivate youth further to leave the country because we do not learn anything. The direction we are heading in is disturbing; we are still praising and promoting the actions of military courts, the course of these investigations, and the real issue of speaking and accepting the truth.
The protestors surely would have realized their mistake of supporting such elements, igniting these protests and gaining nothing but being declared rebels and punished by military courts. The punishments could have been according to the constitution, but the course of action to serve justice is definitely not. The most overrated phrase in Pakistan is “as per constitution” that every other analyst on mainstream media stresses upon. However, justice has been served, and prisoners have been given sentences for rioting. They do have the right to appeal, but it would be of no use, as these are announced by military courts, and civil courts are secondary in our country, so appealing against the decisions would not help the culprits much except for forgiveness by the state, which also seems unlikely. 85 prisoners are punished, yet while others await a decision, which seems near as well.
