The Reality Of US sanctions on Pakistan

US sanctions on Pakistan

Reality of US sanctions on Pakistan: There is no reason for Pakistan to think of targeting anything inside the US or of targeting US interests across the globe. This is not, there could be one argument that these missiles could reach Israel, but then Pakistan has already assured the Americans that even if they could reach Israel, Pakistan is not interested in targeting anything inside Israel. Pakistan is totally focused on India in defensive mechanisms, but the United States not only went ahead and imposed sanctions saying that these missiles could reach the United States, and it has created a very serious situation because the last time the United States said such a thing was against Saddam Hussein, the former Iraqi president, and they not only said that, but they also followed it up with the military action.
The statement issued by the state department of the US said that these restrictions are imposed because they believe that Pakistani ballistic missile systems have gone beyond a certain limit that is threatening US interests, and that’s why they are imposing these sanctions. These shall not be related to the domestic political situation in Pakistan; there are other provisions in the US Constitution that allow the US administration to impose democracy-related sanctions if they wanted to target the Pakistani administration to release Imran Khan or order a recounting of votes in the previous elections. Then they would have gone for democracy-related sanctions because it would have made it very obvious that they want Imran Khan out, and they want democracy to prevail in Pakistan.
The Americans have always known that Pakistan’s missile program and defense capabilities are totally and entirely focused on India, and Pakistan focuses eastward towards India and not westward, which is towards the Middle East, Israel, or the United States. Despite this information, they went for the sanction. They decided to impose these because Washington felt there was a need to curtail Pakistan’s missile programs ambition. A day after imposing these sanctions, a senior official, the deputy national security adviser Jonathan Finer, said that these are long-range missiles that could create problems for other nations as well. He didn’t stop at that; he said that these missiles that Pakistan is making can actually reach the United States.
That is a far-fetched conclusion; Washington knows that Pakistan has no interest and neither has the capability of reaching the United States or going for targets inside the United States. Pakistan has no design, no capability, and no desire to go against the United States. Pakistan still sees the United States as a major ally. The United States is still Pakistan’s biggest trading partner, and with the United States help, Pakistan, in certain issues like getting assistance from the World Bank and the IMF, secures deals. There is no reason for Pakistan to ever think of targeting anything inside the states, nor does the condition of Pakistan permit it to.
This is the US normal process; a little pressure has to be put on Pakistan. It might be possible that India did it, whatever international lobby there might be, and some might be saying that putting pressure on Pakistan, so it has been done. The truth is that India has these intercontinental ballistic missiles, and no sanction has been imposed on India. America has rather helped India; Israel has martyred so many people in the Gaza war. Israel is committing a genocide. America did not say a thing and not even a statement despite internal pressure. America does not even have any moral standing that it can go to the world and give a speech to anyone.
It is a joke to say that Pakistan’s intercontinental missile can reach America; they all know that Pakistan’s defense strategy is that they keep a tooth-and-nail relationship with India so that India does not attack us and take away our territory. Pakistan is a destabilized nation and has nothing to do with hitting anyone. The motto of the US is certainly to make our defense capabilities look threatening so they could slowly move on towards their ultimate goal of declaring us incompetent of having a nuclear arsenal and declaring us a threat to get hold of them. They have nothing to do with world peace and keeping balance as seen in the Israeli genocide of Gaza, but they are just preparing the ground to target destabilized Pakistan.
